On strike

Strike strike and strike.
I wonder why we are involved in politics so much. And at the same time I undrstand the people come to the street because they have so much of dissatisfaction. We live in the city and it is almost okay. But people in the village suffer for the basic needs. People die because they do not have basic medica facility. Then? What could they do?
I went to the city centre yesterday. We were walking for around two hours. Some mass meetings, some demostrations, and most interestingly, unknown, villagers were threatening city-people with long sticks. It is nice to see. They have their time.
The reason behind this protest is, apart from political, the different between the village and the city. The leaders come to the city and never go back. And the villagers cant wait till their villages become city. And what could they do? They grasp such an occasion to come and show their anger at the city-dwellers. Though, they cannot go to the house of their leaders and demand, "oh leaders, what are you doing here? Come to our vilage and make our village a city like this." They all are bound.
And the unfortunate city-dwellers have to bear all - the corrupt politicians, the dirt they left, and the anger of the poor villagers. How long?

Role of NEFIN in restructuring of the country

I'm today thinking about NEFIN (Nepal Federation of Indigenous Nationalities). Our one and only organization to think about the benefit of the indigenous peoples of Nepal. It has recently come up with new team to work.

The country is going to be restructured and most probably, it will be redesigned as a Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal (as it has been stated in the interim constitution). But, along the time, lots of contraditions, controversies, conflicts and minsunderstanding has risen among different Janajati groups. For example, the conflict between the Tamangs and Newars, between the Rais and Limbus, between the Gurungs and Magars and so on.

But to my surprise, NEFIN is doing noting to resolve the problem of the ethnic groups, mainly related with demarcation of the boundaries of the state.

This eventually has helped the anti-federal forces to prove that federal system is misfit for Nepal. In this way, the Bahuns and Chettris will rule the country for hundreds of years.

I think, NEFIN should play a vital role at this time.
